Your Guide to Exploring DTLA Car Free

4.17.2026

Start at ROW: Grab a Bike + Go

Begin your day at ROW DTLA by unlocking a Metro Bike on-site. Grab a coffee, ease into the morning, and map out your route.

This is your basecamp—and your reset point when the ride winds down.

Stop 1: Ride Through the Arts District

Cruise through the Arts District and take in the murals, storefronts, and industrial charm. Everything feels different on a bike—you notice the details you miss from a car.

Head east/northeast from ROW along bike-friendly streets like 3rd and Santa Fe, a popular corridor with multiple Metro Bike Share stations along the way.

Stop 2: Hauser & Wirth

Dock at a nearby station (3rd & Santa Fe or Traction & Rose) to visit galleries like Hauser & Wirth. Take a quick break to explore the art spaces and enjoy the open-air courtyard.

Stop 3: Little Tokyo

Ride west on 1st Street toward Little Tokyo. Dock at a station near 1st & Central and explore the neighborhood on foot. From food to shopping to cultural highlights, it’s a vibrant stop worth lingering at.

Stop 4: Los Angeles River Path (Optional)

From Little Tokyo, you can optionally continue east toward the LA River bike path. Note that while this section offers a scenic ride, much of the river path beyond Downtown isn’t a fully dedicated bike lane.

Back to ROW: Refuel + Hang

Return to ROW DTLA for lunch, shopping, or simply to relax. Use bike lanes on 2nd or 3rd streets to loop back to your starting point and dock your Metro Bike.

The best part? You just explored LA without needing a car, all while starting and ending at the same place.
